«Wine is the perfect complement to great convesations, adn the winery is the perfect place to share it.

WHY IS IT NECESSARY TO HAVE A WAREHOUSE?

It’s well-known that not just any place is suitable for storing our cherished bottles of wine. Many factors can influence whether a wine retains all its characteristics, such as temperature, humidity, the position of the bottle, cleanliness, light exposure, or even excessive noise (which causes vibrations in the wine).

To preserve wine properly, it should rest in locations free from sudden temperature changes, direct sunlight on the bottles, strong odors, and excessive noise. The ideal temperature for wine storage ranges between 10°C and 20°C, with a relative humidity of around 70%. Additionally, the chosen storage area must be well-ventilated.

As you can see, many elements play a role in wine preservation. Therefore, a wine cellar is the most reliable option. At Bodegas Enterradas, you can explore all the possibilities surrounding this idea.

OUR PRODUCT

Our cellars are designed to maximize space in an attractive and unique way. Bodegas Enterradas caters to both individuals and businesses. Any project idea can be brought to life—just share your vision and request more information.

As the name suggests, these are underground cellars built into the ground. Whether due to limited space or simply to make better use of it, underground cellars provide the perfect solution for both space optimization and wine preservation.

PREFAB UNDERGROUND CELLARS

These are systems that simply require excavation to install the future cellar. Using this method, we can build a cellar using a container or a sustainable refrigerator.

The buried container system is an adaptation/repurposing system for maritime containers originally used for transporting goods. It takes advantage of the structure of these containers (which can withstand heavy loads) by burying them and conditioning the space to meet the specific requirements for wine preservation.

In a straightforward construction process, an area slightly larger than the container itself is excavated, leaving a perimeter gap between its sides and the surrounding ground. This gap is then lined to prevent the container from rusting.

Before «burying» the container, its double doors are sealed, and a smaller door is added on the opposite side. Access to this door is provided by a staircase made from concrete and blocks. Metal beams on either side of the staircase are used to create a framework of profiles, topped with corrugated metal sheets. This structure supports a concrete slab (about 15 cm thick) that is poured over the container.

Sustainable refrigerators are fully prefabricated and autonomous ecological coolers that use the earth’s insulating properties to maintain a temperature suitable for preserving food. Our proposal is to repurpose these refrigerators to create underground wine cellars.

This type of underground cellars has the advantage of being adaptable to each situation. In other words, it can be made in different sizes, whether due to lack of space or the need for ample storage. These cellar techniques are very innovative and cutting-edge, but at Bodegas Enterradas, we always seek the most innovative solutions at the best price.

For this type of cellar, we will use the spiral or cylindrical cellar technique. The size of the cellar will be proportional to the number of bottles that can or are intended to be stored. The access doors can be either hinged or sliding, and the materials used can allow for an effective interior design. The possibilities for this type of cellar are endless.

GALERY

A picture is worth a thousand words. For this reason, we present a series of images of our buried wine cellars. Thanks to the work of our designers, you can step inside our cellars and imagine yourself sharing a great bottle of wine with friends and colleagues.

Thanks to our system, we not only save on the surface area used, but also achieve the ideal humidity, temperature, and light conditions in an eco-friendly way. As a result of being buried, this type of cellar does not count toward the buildable area of your plot.

WINES OF THE WORLD

Once we’ve created our space, it’s time to fill it. There are different types of wine that we can’t leave out of our cellar. First, let’s highlight reds. There are many varieties of red wine, ranging from fruity ones (such as Barolo, Bordeaux, Brunello di Montalcino, or Rioja), to spiced ones (with hints of cinnamon, black pepper, or clove), and balsamic ones (featuring vanilla, eucalyptus, or mint).

Of course, we can’t forget some classics like Cabernet. This is a traditional French wine, somewhat overshadowed by the success of Cabernet Sauvignon, the lighter and more herbal French variety.

Other types of red wines include Grenache, Malbec, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Syrah or Shiraz, Zinfandel, and Tempranillo.

Finally, we can’t overlook the importance of rosé, white, fortified, and sparkling wines. The combination of all these will give us a complete, rich, and interesting cellar.

WINE ACCESSOIRES

The world of wine is surrounded by a wide variety of objects and tools. While the enjoyment of wine largely depends on how well-trained our palate is, these objects can be great allies. An essential item in the wine cellar is the corkscrew. However, not all corkscrews are the same, and in this regard, we recommend using a semi-automatic corkscrew. The wine pourer is very useful and necessary. No less essential is the decanter, which allows us to properly aerate the wine for later tasting.

Other very practical accessories, which are easily available, include the wine cooler. Keeping the wine at its ideal temperature is simple with this accessory. More sophisticated is the Le Creuset WA-119. With this piece, we can aerate, pour, and seal the wine.
